# stepSimulation

Advances a clock exactly once and leaves it paused. This is separate from the IDE debugger's Step button.

## Signature

stepSimulation(clock)
```

## Return value and behavior

A new paused clock Map with an updated tick and time.

The helper returns a new value. Use set/zet when updating a variable; the earlier value stays unchanged.
